Per Cas when caught up was breathing very hard and slightly labored, although no raspiness or wheeziness. Once I ausculted him he sounded normal, although breathing a little quickly. Opted to continue with radiographs in case there is thoracic pathology. RADS - chest looks normal. Wing is well aligned but has a very "chunky" callous. There is some bruising and soft tissue inflammation over the elbow, not sure if it is due to a previous wrap or just from the fracture site. The fracture is quite proximal. Wing was a bit stiff while awake but loosened up under anesthesia with minimal work. Might just be a little sore. Recommend EOD awake PT for now, monitor breathing. Palpated fracture to R ulna, lots of fresh (purple) bruising and swelling from wrist to elbow. Decided to take radiographs under 5% ISO via mask, then reduced to 2.5% ISO via mask, confirmed off mid-shaft R ulna fracture, fairly good alignment. Padded figure 8 wrap on R wing, administered meds and placed in kennel for the night. Very jumpy coming out of ISO, abnormal for RTHA. ----------- Treatment ------------- SQ Fluids 35 ml Buprenorphine 0.45 cc IM Meloxicam 0.18 cc IM Bronco ----------- Plan ------------- Monitor behavior Start PT in 3 days
